How to Be Relentless
My Tony Robbins Coach shared this with me and I thought you would enjoy it…
Here’s a simple Yes or No question to consider:
Does your behavior demonstrate a relentless determination?
Your answer reveals a great deal about your future success.
Being relentless is a commitment and intention that stands in the face of obstacles, hardships, temptations, financial difficulties, failing physical health, and broken relationships.
By choosing to be relentless, you are demonstrating no abatement of severity, intensity, strength, or pace, nor are you softening or yielding in determination.
To be relentless is to be unrelenting in the pursuit of your goals.
The relentless attitude is the winning attitude and the remarkable thing about life is that we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.
We cannot change our past. We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is to play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude-our relentless attitude.
Being relentless is an empowering and forceful work ethic that drives us on towards our goals. The inner passion of determination, the indomitable emotional commitment to a worthy goal or an ennobling cause, is an awesome and liberating force.
Victory belongs neither to the faint-hearted nor to the weak-willed or the uncommitted. Not if the enemy is great and his resolution strong.
Only by facing the opponent head-on and with a vengeance can the battle be won.
Victory necessitates that we fight on with undying, relentless determination. The rewards for those who are unyielding in their pursuit of success far exceed the pain that must precede the victory.
Quitting is the path of least persistence. There will be times when a voice within you seems to shout: “I doubt if I can continue.” “Why don’t you just quit and go back to safer ground.” “I don’t know if this will ever work.” “Who am I kidding?” “Why not just throw in the towel.”
Whenever that happens, dismiss your doubts and burn those mental bridges. Remind yourself there are always compensations for the assets you lack.
When you get into a pickle, when your back is up against the wall, when your options are paltry, and when it seems as though you could not possibly hang on a minute longer, never give up for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.
You must remember, it’s always darkest before the dawn.
However, if you are going to quit, do it right away – because the hardest is part of victory lies somewhere between starting and momentum, and success ensues when you persevere thereafter.
Everything can look like a failure in the middle and that perception becomes reality only when you quit before you’ve succeeded. Your ability to being relentless is ultimately a physical, emotional and spiritual demonstration of how badly you want to succeed.
Great adversity and set back is NOT the problem. It is the inability to carry on despite them that is the problem.
Your challenge today is to let them see you sweat, as relentless determination is fueled by a heart-pounding, ego-bashing, soul searching test of your limits.
So, why should you put yourself through so much pain, sacrifice, and uncertainty?
The answer is simple, because if you can pass this test, if you can overcome the seemingly impossible, you will inspire others and prove to yourself that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to.
Everything Counts!

WOW Loren! Its a whole new you! Love it.
Love the power and passion in your post. And yes it is true. Failure happens to everyone. Success happens to people who learn and move on from that failure.
When we decide to make something happen, without allowing for an alternative, we will find a way to make it work. What if the first time your marriage faced a challenge you filed for divorce and claimed defeat? “Well I TRIED!”, you could claim.
Wouldn’t make for a very long marriage in my experience.
Because we commit “until death do us part” we find ways to compromise, rework, reconfigure, reignite, revamp and so on.
We can do this with any other goal as well. Decide where you want to go then keep going until you get there.
Never, ever, ever give up.

Loren, you’re awesome. Your post has motivated me to improve certain areas of my life, especially the areas where I have resigned to living a mediocre life. There’s no reason to give up just because things aren’t going my way. That’s all the reason to fight harder.
