According to the dictionary definition, reality means “the state or quality of being actual or true.” If something is true then everything contrary to it is not true. Or in other words, is not reality. Therefore, there must only be one reality.
Yet I’ve heard so many people say things like, “That may be true for him, but that’s not true for me.” But truth be told, what is true in this world for one person is true in this world for everyone. Reality is reality regardless of what you decide is real.
So since the world is going to continue to operate under its same principles regardless of your beliefs about them, wouldn’t it make sense to align your views and beliefs with reality?
Have you ever known someone who seems to get all the breaks? Why is that? Why does life seem to prefer that individual over you? The reality is that life does not prefer one person over another. Life simply is. The world operates under its principles and those principles are unchanging. The reason certain people get all the breaks are because they choose to operate under life’s principles and thereby receive the blessings of doing so.
So how does knowing this help you create your reality? Well in terms of your external world, it helps you understand that to a large degree you can’t create your reality. Whether or not someone smashes your vehicle or you’re born with a biological disorder, are out of your control.
What is under your control is the way you choose to view those events. So if you can only control the internal aspect of your reality, wouldn’t it make sense to study the principles that the world operates under so you can align the way you choose to view the world with the way the world actually is? Let’s try to do that now.
Here is one truth that I’ve learned: Your thoughts determine your peace and happiness, not your circumstances. Let me explain.
Imagine that you’re feeling great right now, absolutely wonderful and then all of a sudden your entire life savings gets wiped out but you don’t know it yet. Is it not true that you would go on feeling great even though your life’s savings just got wiped out? In other words, your circumstances, the loss of money, do not affect your peace and happiness. It is your thoughts about your circumstances that affect your state of mind. When you finally do find out about the financial loss, you have two choices. You can become angry, fearful and anxious, or you can choose to instead think, “I’ve created it before and I can probably create it again. In fact, I’m pretty lucky I had something saved up otherwise it could have been really bad.”
I realize that it may seem like craziness, but I strongly encourage you to evaluate the truth of that claim yourself. Think about a situation in your life that caused stress or anger or frustration, and now that you’re removed from that situation, ask yourself if you HAD to feel the way that you felt at that time. Did you HAVE to get angry? Were you FORCED to become frustrated? If you’re honest with yourself the answer is no. That label you place on events, as good or bad, is merely a perspective and it’s not reality.
The way you choose to view the world around you may not determine reality, but it does determine your experience in reality. If you see the world as kind and providing you’ll feel grateful and cared for. If you see the world as out to get you, you’ll feel like a victim. Reality only leaves room for one truth so I encourage you to deeply consider which belief you want to live by. I wish you the best in your search for truth.

perhaps put this way – “The way you choose to see the world, creates the world you see…”
