Back to School Contest Winners Announced

David ShoupThank you all for sharing all the wonderful lessons learned during your days in school.

I truly enjoyed reading your responses and found it was such a great reminder to me that much of who we are today can be attributed to the concepts and ideas that we learned as students.

I also found it interesting, but not surprising, that much of what we remember from our days in the classroom had very little to do with the actual content of what was being taught. The real lessons can from the principles we were able to gain or learn.

Thanks again for your thoughtful answers. It was difficult to narrow Read More...

The Top 10 Tips to Creating Powerful Positive Self-Talk

Self-TalkWe all have access to a powerful tool which when used regularly will enhance our self esteem, break through limiting self-imposed beliefs, and raise the thermostat of our comfort zones.  It is called self-talk.  Here are the Top 10 Tips for creating powerful self-talk.

1. Know Your Outcome
Have a clear vision of the end result and avoid dwelling on the question, how will I get there? Our subconscious minds are very creative and once the thought is programmed, you will be pleasantly surprised at how the creative mind goes to work to guide you to make the vision a reality. For example, let’s take a shy person who is uncomfortable speaking to a group of people. The desired end-result is to be confident, dynamic and captivating Read More...

Roger Seip

The Law of Attraction is the closest thing to magic I’ve ever seen. The Law of Attraction basically states that every result and situation you have in your Life, you have attracted with your thoughts.

It’s been expressed many ways over the millennia, from the book of Proverbs (as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he) to Earl Nightingale’s The Strangest Secret (you become what you think about) to Jack Canfield, James Ray and even Oprah this year.

The purpose of this article is to help you understand 3 principles you can use to trigger the Law of Attraction to start attracting top performance and tremendous results into your life almost Read More...

The Strike – Threat or Opportunity

Eric PlantenbergMy arrival in Saginaw, Michigan on May 26th 1990 was filled with hope and eager anticipation. It was the beginning of my professional life: my first real job. After completing a weeklong training school in Nashville, I was deployed to Eastern Michigan to perform sales and customer service for a national publishing company.

Several weeks into my budding career, I was keen on improving my performance. So, naturally I attended a workshop. At the training, I was introduced to a man named Scott, who had worked with the company for the last three years. We worked in virtually the same territory, selling the same products. In my mind, I imagined him to be the perfect person to share ideas and Read More...

Nature Analogy – Taking Care of Your Roots

Leah SimpsonNature provides many examples that can teach us important lessons about ourselves.

For example, take a tree. When people look at trees, they comment on what they can see: the brilliant fall colors, the huge size, the pretty spring blossoms…In other words, rarely will someone’s first thoughts be, “that tree must have a very extensive root system.” However, the more extensive the root system, the stronger and more beautiful the tree.

In fact, in order to grow branches and leaves, the roots must be nourished. Without nourishing the roots, not only will the tree be unable to grow, but the tree will eventually die. Now, in terms of trees, this seems fairly obvious to us. However, the same is true Read More...

Using a golf analogy, Tony Robbins demonstrates what we at Freedom Personal Development call the Winning Edge Theory.

The Winning Edge states that a tiny change, such as a few millimeters, can yield large results in the outcome.

When all hell is breaking loose in your life, all you need to ask is “What little thing do I need to change, and adjust by one Read More...

How to Handle the Price Objection

Filed under: Sales Training — Tags: , , — Freedom Personal Development @ 6:00 am

David DenisMany salespeople struggle with objections, because they are trying to answer the wrong objection. People buy because they see the value in what you are selling. People will NOT buy when they see little or no value for themselves.

Nevertheless, there are also times when people see the value, but still are reluctant to buy. In this case, it may be a matter of budget. They simply do not have the money to obtain the value they desire.

People are often reluctant to come right out and tell you the true source of their objection. If you run into objections, review your demonstration to make sure you are hitting the right value buttons. If that’s all in order, then bring out that last big benefit that you were holding back just in case.

If that still doesn’t Read More...

A Cure for Writer’s Block – Mind Mapping

Filed under: Communication — Freedom Personal Development @ 6:00 am

Ken BudkaMind Mapping it is a great exercise for starting the writing process or getting past writer’s block. Mind mapping is also known as Clustering or Chunking information.

The reason this method works so well is that it ties into the way your memory works most effectively, by grouping information.

By following these steps, you will make the writing process more manageable and you will become more efficient.

How Mind Mapping Works

1. Take a blank piece of paper, and in the middle, write down a word that describes the general subject you planned to write about.

2. For 30-60 seconds max, write down everything that comes to mind or is connected to your keyword. Write it as Read More...
