4 Places to Post Your Goals
The first quarter of the year is done and hopefully you are on track to achieving the goals you set at the beginning of the year. What I am going to cover today will help you consistently review your goals and keep them in the forefront of your mind.
The best way to do that is to post your goals where you can see them throughout the day. This will help immensely in reminding you if you are on track and what you are working towards.
Here are four places that I post my goals and I think you will find it a very beneficial way to review your goals.
1 – In Your Work Area
This one is pretty obvious. We spend most of our day here, so it is one of the best places to have a constant reminder of your goal. It does not have to be a huge poster on your wall, just someplace you will see if often. It could be a simple note card with your goal, or a representation of it, written with marker. Make sure it is someplace you can see it – tack it on a bulletin board, tape it up on the wall or next to your computer.
2 – In Your Car
If you are anything like the average American, you spend a couple of hours in your car every single day. What some people do is post it on the steering wheel. What I do is use a dry erase marker on my rear view mirror. Now, I do not write across the entire rear view mirror, I just put a representative number or word in the corner to remind me of the main goal I want to achieve.
3 – Your Bathroom Mirror
Everyone spends time in the bathroom, either brushing their teeth, shaving or doing their hair. By reviewing your goal the first thing in the morning when you are getting ready and at night before bed, will plant your goal soundly in your subconscious.
4 – Your Bedroom
This could be on your night stand or by your alarm clock. It is a great way to review your day and the plans you have for the next day. Ask yourself what you did well and what could have been done better. When you wake up and see your goal, you are well on your way to having a productive day.
By doing the very simply task of posting your goals in these four areas, you will propel yourself forward to achieving the life of your dreams.
