Are You Loving Life
Approximately six weeks ago I found myself struggling to find the energy to do the smallest of tasks. I felt like I needed discipline to do everything. Things frustrated me. People were idiots. Situations were stressful. Time was always running short. Then, through the power of truth coming off a page, I was hit with a revelation: I have the ability to CHOOSE my life.
Everything in my life that I was experiencing was of my making, and I had the Power at work within me to create a new Life. I decided I wanted happiness, Abundance, meaningful work, energy, GREAT relationships, a healthy body, and I decided that I wanted to be giving, energetic, LOVING life, having fun, smiling, working hard, and kicking butt. In essence, I wanted to be living life to the fullest.
In a split second, like the flip of a switch, I began to do just that. I saw myself in a new light. I made a conscious effort that I would focus my attention solely on the new vision I had for my life, and I did my best to focus solely on the things I considered to be Truth, despite the appearance of anything that seemed to stand in the way (because it was just that…the APPEARANCE of being in the way. Nothing was in the way at all.) And as I focused solely on the new Life, I found it nearly impossible to act out of line with who I wanted to be. My actions were becoming congruent with who I wanted to be (or with who I knew I already was) and with what I wanted to Create (or with what I knew was already Created).
How did I know what to focus on? I thought about what excited me and made me come alive, and I thought BIG. I thought about how I wanted to FEEL in my relationships, how I wanted to FEEL about my body, how I wanted to FEEL about my bank accounts, how I wanted to FEEL about my work. I decided I wanted to be bubbling over with excitement and enthusiasm about my ENTIRE life, and I got clear about what that looked like. I now allow my heart run free with no restrictions, and I do my best to operate from a place of knowing that what I am looking for (in myself and externally) is already Created, and it’s just a matter of time before it comes forth in physical appearance. And therefore, I EXPECT great things to happen. Living in this realm of belief is a wonderful, fun, exciting place to live.
I’ve gone in and out of states of emotional highs, and for the first time I feel like this new self is here to stay. I now spend anywhere from 3-12 hours setting up my week, excitedly planting seeds for what’s ahead. I look at my Vision of my dream life, holding fast to the belief that it’s already created, and I experience profound gratitude for the ability to choose my life. I simply REFUSE to allow anything to be on my calendar that I am not totally enthused about. If it’s on my calendar, it’s in my life, and Life is too awesome to live in mediocrity! As I look ahead at my week, if there’s something on my calendar that I’m not TOTALLY enthused about, I either find a way to get totally enthused about it (usually by reflecting on the deeper reason for why I’m doing it), or I lovingly take it off my calendar. Too often I used to live according to what I thought other people thought I “should” be doing. Now I try not to let my mind even dwell in that realm. I simply think about the joyful life that I want to experience. I think about the More Life that I want to bring to the lives of others.
My purpose of telling this story is not to point out what’s going well in my life, but rather, that you might have the same awakening experience that I had six weeks ago. For you also have the ability to choose your entire life, and for your sake, I want you to feel fully alive, to be smiling each morning, loving life, seeing your dreams coming to pass, and giving thanks for the beauty that is all around you. I want for you to see the seed that is planted inside you, the seed of potential that has existed all along, the seed that is ready to come forth. I want for you to see your Vision come into fruition.
Of all the gifts we’ve been given, I believe none is greater than the gift of free will, the ability to choose our experience in Life. I pray that you may fully receive this gift and choose to make your life what you want it be, and I challenge you to live the life that you want to live. As we all move toward a more joyful, meaningful existence, the world becomes a better place.
I wish you a wonderful, joy-filled week!

Good for you Dave! I hope everyone reading this will make some positive changes in the way they look at things. Even those of us “into” personal development who hear a lot about choices, attitude, etc., we need to be reminded of these things. It’s so interesting to me that people seem to default to a negative way of thinking. The sad thing is, some stop there.

Dave that brought tears to my eyes!
I love you and really appreciate sharing this with us. You shine in the light of the Lord!
I have also come to realize and remember a couple of things… If it’s not eternal it’s not eternally ours..and To live each moment to Glorify God in all we do, and to make him smile..That is my true purpose!
God Bless you Dave.

Thank you for your encouraging comments. More importantly, thanks for taking the time to invest in yourself, to proactively create your life, and to be a wonderful human being. We all share in this experience together, and the more we all grow, share, and encourage, the better our experience becomes. You’re all great.
