What Motivates You Contest Winners Announced

Jeffrey CzajkaThe question was, “What motivates you?”. Many great responses were given that discussed people’s belief on motivation, but not what directly motivated them.

If you were to break down motivation to it’s most basic elements, it is made up of two things, internal and external motives.

Internal motives are those things that come from within. Like a personal vision, dreams, aspirations and charity to name a few.

External motives are those things that come from outside of us. Things like financial issues, work requirements and people to name a few.

We all, in some combination, have motivation that is made up of these two things. In Read More...

The 4 Stages of Learning

Jeffrey CzajkaHopefully you plan on learning something new this year that you can apply to your professional or personal life. The 4 Stages of Learning that I will discuss in this post will help you put your progress, and even growing pains, into prospective. I will use an analogy of scuba diving to illustrate the points in each stage.

Stage 1 – Unconscious Incompetence

Restated, this means you do not know what you do not know. For instance, when you were very young, you did not know scuba diving existed. All you knew was that if you did not hold your breath when you were underwater, you could drown.

Stage 2 – Conscious Incompetence

Basically, Read More...

Revving Yourself Up after the Holidays

Jeffrey Czajka2010, game on!!!!

If you were anything like me last month, you spent it wrapping up 2009 and working hard trying to figure what you wanted this new year to look like.

Actually, I spent a little bit of November contemplating 2010 as well. I had to set effective goals for the New Year, and to set effective goals, that is a lot of hard work. To set a goal properly, you need to figure out what you want to do and if it is meaningful to you, how to measure the goal, what timeframe you have to accomplish it and if the goal is realistic. After you get all that sorted out, you got to write it all down and review it. It seems like a lot of hard work, and it Read More...

How to Get Radical with Self-Talk

Jeffrey CzajkaI was recently thinking about self-talk and a former client of mine came to mind. Of all the hundreds, if not thousands of groups that I have spoken to the last couple of years, I would classify them as the most radical. Radical in a good way – the way that leads to success.

Before I was scheduled to speak at their morning meeting, the sales manager stood up infront of the group and yelled out a phrase that was echoed back to her. “I feel great! I believe! I am a winner! (and, even my favorite), It is a great day!”

Talk about a radical way to start your day!! How many people, let alone companies, can say they actually start their day with such positive programming? This type of Read More...
