Contest Winners Announced – What do you Say to Start Your Day

Man, there were some great entries for this contest - I especially enjoyed the ones where people are quoting me :) ! This was tough to pick just three out of all the really great ways people start their day, but here goes:

1st Place and winner of an Expect Success Book (filled with positive quotes) is Marty P (#42), for its sheer thoroughness:

First thing I do is my 7 morning questions (got these from Tony Robbins)
sometimes I do them with my wife she is into it sometimes but would rather sleep the 5 min it takes.
1 what am I most Happy about in my life right now.
what about that makes me happy and how does that make me feel.
2 what am I most Gratefull for in my life right now.
what about that makes me Gratefull and how does that make me feel.
3 what am I most Excited about in my life right now.
what about that makes me excited and how does that make me feel.
4 what am I most Proud of in my life right now.
what about that makes me Proud and how does that make me feel.
5 what am I most enjoying in my life right now.
what about that makes me enjoy this and how does that make me feel.
6 what am I most committed to in my life right now.
why do I want to be committed to this and how does that make me feel.
7 who do I love and who loves me.
why do I want to love and be loved and how does that make me feel.

I then get up go over to my wife’s side and get her out of bed and give her a good hug.
she always likes this. sometimes a kiss but morning mouth is not the best.

then I make the affermation of somethig amazing is going ot happen to me today
while I go down stairs to get my water for the morning.

we work out 6 days a week together and I have been with my wife for 35 years.
its not always easy to do this but is is always good.
everyone at the Health club thinks I am on some sorta caffine high.
but no caffine needed.

2nd Place and winner of a Freedom Personal Development Water Bottle is Tricia (#71) for genuine gratitude in the little things – I love it!

I start my day with gratitude! I do this before I even get out of bed, before my feet hit the floor, I thank my bed for being so comfortable and allowing me to sleep in it, I thank my blanket for keeping me warm and cozy. I thank my house for keeping me safe and dry. Then I think about how my day is going to be like, or what I am going to accomplish.

3rd Place and winner of a Finger Flip Football Game is Kelly Koplitz (#43) for surrendering yet taking 100% responsibility at the same time. Brilliant!

When I get up in the morning and as I am getting ready for work – I say the following things:

As I am getting up and going to shower:
“Thank you God for the breath of life today. I put this day in your hands; do with it what you will.”

As I am driving to work (30 minute drive):
“Lord, please keep me safe in my travels and free from trouble.”

As I am walking into the building at work:
“It’s going to be a great day!” with a long deep breath and a smile…:)

Thanks again to all who posted, we had 75 entries and I love hearing from you all.  I hope this contest caused you to consciously think about what you say to start your day.

Our next contest will be announced on our blog this Thursday!

  3. I attended Mastery University in 1996 and had forgotten Tony Robbin’s 7 questions – so thanks Marty for reminding me!

There’s been a recent change to my waking up. Someone said they woke up to a song and I thought that was lovely – so, I decided to begin waking up to the song, “You light up my life.” That sentence is engraved on our wedding rings and was the song my husband and I danced to on our wedding day. It also speaks to the many people, and especially the Lord, who light up my life!
