First, we must understand what the Law of Attraction is. Understand it’s nothing new; it’s been around since the beginning of time. It’s a law of nature. The Law of Attraction basically states that everything that you have in your life, every positive thing in your life, is a result of you attracting it. That’s pretty easy for people to accept, but the Law of Attraction also states that everything negative in your life you’ve also attracted.

You know the book The Secret by Rhonda Byrne simply states everything that comes into your life you are attracting into your life. And it attracted to you by virtue of the images you’re holding in your mind. It is what you are thinking.

How do you activate this law?

1. Read Good Books
One of the ways to activate the law is by developing the habit of reading good books because in good books you get good thoughts into your mind.

Examples of good books:

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey
The Greatest Salesman in the World by Og Mandino
The Success Principles by Jack Canfield

To get some other ideas of great books, visit our website and click on the Recommended Reading link.

It is imperative that you develop this habit of reading good books. Everyone should have in their home, what I like to call, a personal self development library. If you don’t have one by now, I think after this message you should make the commitment to developing one; fill it with great books and start reading good books.

2. Positive Self Talk
Utilizing positive self talk is a great way to attract the law. There’s a book What to Say When you Talk To Yourself by Shad Helmsteader. This is a great book to explain the power of positive self talk and give you ideas of phrases that you can say that activate the Law of Attraction.

3. Practice Receiving
Another way to activate the law of attraction is practice being good at receiving. Now what do I mean by practicing being good at the art of receiving? When someone pays you a compliment, instead of shunning it off or downplaying it or as people like to humble themselves and say, “Oh it wasn’t really me, it was a result of….” graciously accept the compliment. If someone says to you, “Oh you did a great job” or “that was terrific,” simply say, “Well thank you, I appreciate that.” Pause for a moment and let that sink into your mind. If you want to return a compliment to the person that’s fine, but do accept the compliment they paid you, graciously.

4. Exercise Discipline
Another thing that activates the Law of Attraction is by you exercising discipline. What is discipline? It’s a word that we probably all know and there are probably many, many different definitions, but one of the best definitions that I’ve heard is simply “doing the right thing even when you don’t feel like it.” I think that really sums up discipline because if you think about the things that require discipline to make us better, many times we don’t feel like doing it.

For example, exercising. We know that it’s good for us. It’s good for us both physically and mentally, but I’m sure there are times that you just don’t feel like going to the gym or riding that bike or running that race. Discipline is when we do it even when we don’t feel like it.

So those are four ideas of ways to activate the Law of Attraction. Just to review, first develop the habit of reading good book; second, practice the art of positive self talk; third, practice being good at receiving; and fourth and finally, exercise discipline. I think those are some of the ways that can really help you on activating the Law of Attraction in your life. If you have any other examples, please post them below.

  3. Everything about a positive mental attitude and practicing gratitude is wonderful and will work to improve the quality of your life. However, without the re-education of your mind and HABITS of living a person cannot reach the success they truly envision. That’s why I really believe that the four steps you suggest can make the MOST difference in anyone’s life. Discipline to implement all of the facets of a positive life are essential. Any one of these is a step in the right direction but only one in the sequence on the road to real happiness.
