How to Exercise Your Vision

David DenisDo you remember the ads in comic books for X-Ray specs? Hmmmm. What if, rather than glasses that let you see people naked, you could look behind the mundane circumstances, beyond the difficulties and obstacles and through the fog that surrounds us to see the opportunities and possibilities that exist all around you.

That is the virtue of vision, and you can train yourself to do it.

Seeing is the first step to forging that better reality. In sports, your body follows the direction your eyes are looking. In the same way your will, your intellect and your spirit will move in the direction of your inner vision. You can create it if you can first see it in your mind and in your heart. Seeing it clearly, you can act to bring it to existence. It’s not magic, but it sometimes feels like it.

Here is one good way to cultivate your Vision. Sit down with a piece of paper, and number down the left side 1-7. Write down 7 things you really wish for. Choose wishes that make your heart dance, even if they seem totally impossible. Be very specific and clear about what this wish looks like.

Then, each day of the week, pick one of those pictures and spend 5-10 minutes imagining what it would be like IF this thing already existed. What IF you actually had the body you really want? What IF you had no financial worries? What IF your business had more than enough clients? What IF? Don’t worry about how. Just imagine what it would feel like to already have it. What you would do? What you would say? What you would think?

This is exercising your VISION. As your vision becomes more powerful, don’t be surprised if the path that leads to these results also becomes clear to you. It may not happen right away, but if you continue this practice week after week, you will find that more and more things just seem to fall into place to move you toward the thing you see.

So forget about back page classifieds, money orders, and X-Ray specs. Cultivate a truer vision and see what’s possible.
