How Well Can You Remember a Face Game
I found a cool memory test from the BBC that measures how well you can remember a face. The test is designed to test your recognition and temporal memory and how each area is affected by sleep.
Take the Test
Recognition memory, if you saw or face or not, is unaffected by sleep loss. A person who has not slept for as much as 35 hours can perform as well as someone who is well rested.
Temporal memory is your ability to remember how long ago something happened The area of the brain that controls temporal memory can be affected by prolonged sleep loss and/or ageing. So a healthy 65 year old who sleeps normally would be able to perform this test similarly to a 20 year old who has gone without sleep for 36 hours.
The test is presented in three parts and it is suggested that you take a five-minute break in between each part. Each test will take you between 1-2 minutes to complete. At the end, the results of your temporal memory and face recognition will be calculated.
Have fun with this and please post your results as a comment below.

My recognition score was 100% and my temporal memory score was 91%. I never forget a face. I’ve always wanted to take a test like that because I have always been told I notice people’s features that most people would never notice. That was a lot of fun.

My recognition score was 100%. My temporal memory score was 95%. I have always felt that I remember faces and names very well whether it be in sports, campus, student organizations, etc. Furthermore, I often find myself sitting in the student union “people watching.” I know it sounds creepy but I like to read people and their actions. GREAT TEST!

83/55 with several interruptions with staff. The second section was definately harder to remember.

100/79. I have had a total of 2 hours sleep in the last 46 hours, which is supposed to affect temporal memory, so the 79 might not be what I am capable of. I never forget a face… I never remember a name. I’ll remember intimate details of your life, and will screw up your name every time
