I am going to tell you how you can improve the quality of your life by paying attention to and changing the words you use. If you have heard of the Law of Attraction, then you probably understand that people attract what they think about. In other words, your thoughts, positive or negative, determine your destiny.
Language is an external indicator of a manifestation of a thought. If you simply study and pay attention to the language that you speak you can very clearly predict the results that you’re going to experience.
Let’s take a look at some specific examples:
The Word Need:
This is a word that people use a lot and if you look up “need” in the dictionary you’ll see it is defined as, “a lack of something, to be under an obligation. Typically used in an interrogative statement or a negative statement, a situation or time of difficulty.”
Those are the things that you attract to your reality, (lack, obligation, negativity, difficulty) simply by using the word need.
Let’s get even more specific here. I need to lose weight. Have you ever heard anybody say that before? What usually happens? I need to make more money. I need to make these phone calls. If you simply replace the word need with a more empowering word, a word of action, you will feel the difference here.
I will lose weight
I will make ten phone calls this morning
I will make more money
There are tons of other examples of negative language that attracts negative results.
I should call so and so. I’d like to improve my closing ratio. I’m terrible with names. The market is slow. The market is bad.
If you go about your day talking like this then your results will be full of more “shoulds” and “likes” not to mention all kinds of proof of a bad market. These words portray no action and no responsibility.
It can even get as bad as actually saying the things that are the polar opposites of what we want to experience. Listen to this: I’m broke. I get sick every winter. I’m struggling.
Well, guess what? By talking like that you are absolutely correct – you will be broke, you will get sick and you will struggle. You’re attracting those things into your life. On the other hand, saying things like:
I will
I’m growing
I’m moving forward
I’m excellent, better all the time, loving, good, great, healthy, inspired
I never get sick
It’s a great time to buy
Language like this is a sign that you’re thinking in a way that’s consistent with the reality that you desire to create.
If you want a recommendation for a terrific book that can help with the thought process itself, I would recommend that you pick up a copy of The Power of Positive Thinking by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale. It’s a great read and in the meantime really do watch your language, pay attention to it, study it, make sure you’re speaking in a way that serves you and of course….

Nice Randy. I know you did not get to where you are without adopting the level of consciousness over your thoughts and words as you do. I respect your continuing to sharpen the saw. You inspire me and I value our friendship.
