Memory Training Q&A – Things To Do Lists

Here is another question from one of our Memory Training Workshop graduates regarding having multiple to-do lists, for instance one for personal and one for business tasks.
*******************************
Dear Eric,

We own our own business and have dozens of request and/or tasks, both personal and business that we need to address each day. Our question is, what is the most efficient way to memorize this. i.e. do we attach business to-do’s to our body and also attach personal items to our body, or do we keep them separate? i.e. business to-do’s on our body file, and personal items in our house file.

I think it would be confusing to put, for example, “sending out John’s confirmation letter” on our toes, and also stacking it with “eggs” on our toes, for our grocery to-do list.

Best wishes,

J. Lavitt and A. Brende

Answer

Personally, I would use two separate files. I would put my business to do list on my house file (or create an office file) and put my groceries on my body. When I use my files, I ‘batch’ the information that goes together. Most people find that to work really well.

Great question! The best thing I can tell you right now is to do your 21 day follow-up and have fun with the process. Ultimately, you will find what works best for you with use and a little time.
