Offices Going Green – Funny Email Taglines
At the Freedom Personal Development staff meeting last week, we brainstormed ideas to make our office green, or more environmentally friendly.
One of the suggestions (along with planting trees and turning off computer monitors at the end of the day) was adding a cute tagline to the bottom of our emails that basically reminds the recipient to think before they print.
The tag line we decide to use states “Please consider the environment before printing this email.” Straight to the point, polite and well, a little bland. Don’t get me wrong, I think this is a great tagline and reminder to save paper and I am happy to add it to my emails.
If you are looking for a little more spice to add to your green email tagline, check out some of the HILARIOUS ideas we found at http://ekhudson.wordpress.com/2008/02/05/hello-world/
- Printing emails is the new clubbing seals.
- Rome lasted over a thousand years without printing emails. Are you really going let Nero and Elagabalus have a better impact on the environment than you?
- Why print this email? You wouldn’t copy a DVD to BetaMAX.
- This email was produced with the highest quality bytes and Grade-A electrons; why degrade it by printing it on an obsolete medium like paper?
- Printing this email makes Al Gore cry.
- Unless this is a twenty dollar bill, it isn’t worth printing.
- Here’s a useful shortcut to remember – Ctrl-P = Rampant Climate Change.
- 10 square miles of Rain Forest were used to print your list of Top Ten Things Cats are Thinking.
- The Rare Spotted Mewling Toad agrees that printing your memo is more important than his habitat.
- If man was not meant to print his emails, he would not have been given the gift of toner.
- Mother Nature says: Forward All > Print
- Welcome to the Digital Age! Printing emails went out with the fanny pack.
- F.Y.I., your boss hates the sight of paper. It’s a ‘Nam thing. Maybe try forwarding instead of printing.
Please share any funny Ecofriendly email taglines you come accross!
PS – Please don’t print this blog post - Show climate change who wears the pants in this biosphere.

I love it! I’ve been an environmentally conscious person for a long time and it’s nice to work with people who feel the same.

A week or so ago, an office mate found your website. We would like to use the globe on our e-mail, but are concerned about intellectual property rights. Do you know if the globe icon is copyrighted or trademarked? Did you design it? May we use it? Thanks. Mary

See the link below for an informative yet funny video on going green. This was created for a sustainability shorts contest sponsored by The City University of New York.

Hi,
I was wondering the same thing as Mary McMillan. I have searched the net to see where your world logo comes from and can’t find it. I would also like to use this for my emails but am worried if it is trademarked, etc and if it is for public use?
Thanks

Hi Katie,
I own a clothing company that donates 5% of all sales profits to community-based programs that engage in environmentally friendly green-initiatives. As a few people have mentioned in earlier posts, we would also like to use your green globe logo tin our effort to support eco-friendly efforts. Would this be okay?
Sincerely,
North Field Outfitters

Great initiative! I finally found an interesting logo I could use for my signature and spread awareness on going green in Bolivia! I would also like to use it, would it be OK? Oh, and love the funny Al Gore – crying one, that one is hilarious…

Not to rain on the green-globe parade, but that picture’s under copyright. If you’re going to use it for your company, it’s probably a very good idea to buy it first…

Hi Katie
Thanks for allowing us to use your green globe logo. Beautifully done. I’m in the Corporate Social Responsibility Dept in my company and we are going to promote International Car Free Day by giving away transportation cards to all those who pledge their efforts not to drive to work that day. I have the intention to put your logo on these cards and the printers require an image that is higher in resolution (at least 300dpi). Would you be able to help?
Thanks!
Comment by Stephen Liew — August 3, 2010 @ 8:47 pm
I am not sure of the resolution of the image

I know this is an old blog, but I thought I’d share this tagline anyway. Eyes, Envy, Emeralds, Envy, & Environment: What are things that are GREEN Alex. Let’s not make this a true daily double by printing this e-mail.
Comment by Jerry Petch — September 28, 2011 @ 12:49 pm
Hi! Thanks to let anyone can use the logo and tag.

Very good luck finding folks behind this one. Though you make some Quite fascinating points, youre going to have to do much more than bring up several things that might be diverse than what weve already heard. What are trying to say here? What do you would like us to think? It appears like you cant actually get behind a unique thought. Anyway, thats just my opinion.
