You Shouldn’t Read This

Many people have talked with me recently about getting motivated when they don’t feel like it or when they are having a bad day. If you have ever wondered that then read on.

There are many ways to get yourself motivated. Anyone who has listened to Tony Robbins have learned about changing your state, specifically using your physiology, your focus, and your language. And because the “state” that you are currently “in” is determined by those three forces, if you change any of those three then you will change your “state”.

For example if you are feeling sad you might feel “down” and usually, you will droop your shoulders a little and your Read More...

Winners of the Personal Freedom Contest

What a pleasure it has been hosting this contest! I must say, reading so many different ideas on personal freedom has been incredibly inspiring. Over the Thanksgiving holiday, I pulled out all the submissions, and my family and I sat around talking about freedom-how thankful we are for freedom and what it means.

There were so many great thoughts represented in this contest, and I’d say that I’d like to pull a little bit from everyone’s comments to put together the winner! It became clear that freedom exists, whether we recognize it or not. Sometimes our choices are more limited than others, but Read More...

Personal Freedom Contest

Working for a company called Freedom Personal Development, we often get asked, “What does ‘Freedom’ mean?” Well, as one of our core values, we define freedom as the capacity to exercise choice.  How do you define freedom or better yet your own personal freedom?

We all have choices, sometimes seemingly large and sometimes seemingly small, in the decisions we make on a daily basis. Will you choose to read a book that would benefit your career?  Which career will you choose? Will you choose to look at the positive and not the negative? Which house will you buy? Will you choose to drink coffee made at home or buy it at Starbucks? You Read More...

Take Control: Create the Life You Desire

Dave MeyersDeeper truths often lie below the surface. We say we don’t like our jobs, but frequently, it’s the results we’ve created that we don’t like. We say we’re frustrated with our spouse, but oftentimes, we’re actually ashamed of our own inaction to improve our relationship. We say we’re burnt out, tired of life, but many times what we know to be true is that we haven’t taken the steps to get involved in something energizing, something that lights a fire in our hearts. And it’s OK to feel these things. The important thing is that you’re moving in a positive direction.

So what steps can you take to make sure you’re moving in Read More...

Increase Responsibility to Increase Freedom

Leah SimpsonWith the 4th of July just around the corner, and people across the United States celebrating freedom, I thought I would write about how to increase freedom in your life.

It’s obvious from the name of our organization, Freedom Personal Development, that freedom is important to us. Our definition of freedom is, “The capacity to exercise choice.” We all have choices and therefore freedom in our lives.

In fact freedom of choice is an unavoidable responsibility to be treated with much respect. It’s not an absence of responsibility with which to be careless.

A lot of time people think freedom is the freedom from responsibility. I’d argue that it is Read More...

The Big Key To Freedom

Roger SeipWhen our clients are exposed to our company, they are often impressed with how we really stress the concept of Freedom – and well they should be. Our central core value is Freedom, our web address is deliverfreedom.com, heck- it’s the name of our company! At the same time I see that the vast majority of individuals I meet do not have the kind of professional or personal Freedom they really desire and deserve. Do you?

The role of our choices is central to how much Freedom we experience. In fact, we define Freedom as “the capacity to exercise choice”- and when I say exercise, I literally mean exercise like a muscle. The more you properly exercise a muscle’s capacity to Read More...

Freedom Begins with a Dream

Eric PlantenbergOften people ask me what is the “key” to becoming FREE? What one thing is the source of freedom at work, in relationships, financially, etc?

I have a critical question for you. What was the source of your greatest success? Think back to the time of you greatest achievement. Think about the area of your life that has continually been a source of strength and joy. What is the source of those magical moments?

Many great thinkers have said that everything in our life is created twice – once in thought and then once in reality. I will suggest that the original source of everything great in your life is a dream that you had in the Read More...

Letting Go of Problems

Filed under: Attitude Management — Tags: , , , , , , , , , , — Freedom Personal Development @ 6:00 am

I wrote about seeing problems as opportunities on the blog before. I wanted to progress with this thought by discussing the need to let go.Once you have accepted a problem as reality, and seen it as an opportunity to grow and change, the next step is to simply let it go.

To do this, you need to shift your focus to the solution and stop dwelling on the problem and the pain and the setback it’s caused. Remember, a problem Read More...

The Irony of Systems

Filed under: Personal Freedom — Tags: , , , , , , , , — Freedom Personal Development @ 6:00 am

David DenisSo…you say you want to be free? What if I told you that in order to be free you need to enslave yourself?

Sounds crazy, doesn’t it? Nevertheless, when you set up effective systems and enslave yourself to them, you will find the discipline required to obtain freedom is much easier.

Freedom is simply the capacity to exercise choice. When you are free, you choose to be who you want, to do what you want, and to have what you want. This does NOT mean lack of responsibility or accountability. In fact, freedom requires that you increase your level of accountability. To become free, you CHOOSE to become more accountable to yourself, and to your own purpose, values and Read More...
