Effective Time Management

CAN I HAVE SOME MORE HOURS?

We all have the same 24 hours in the day to make of, as we will, but how is it that some people are able to accomplish so much and others are scrambling to get the minimum required in any given day? How can some find the time to balance work, personal life, health, and family and still manage to take that vacation without stress or concern? What abilities do they have that I don’t?

I was asking myself these same questions five years ago as I was struggling to make a living as an actor in New York. I worked two and sometimes three jobs to barely get by and make enough to pay for the necessities of life. I was searching for the magical cure to my busy but unproductive Read More...

Finding the Path of Success

For a moment, I’d like you to imagine that you are in a deep dark tropical jungle and you are completely lost. You are not quite sure which way is North, South, East or West. You can’t see the sun because the tree canopy above is so thick, which also means that you can’t see any of the mountains that you have been trying to find.

Suddenly, in the distance you hear a small group of friendly voices and the sounds of machetes chopping through the thick undergrowth. Like any smart adventurer you head towards the sounds of those voices, hoping that they will be able to point you in the right direction or let you join them.

Unfortunately, as you don’t have a machete it is slow going for you get to where those voices Read More...

Video – Brian Tracy on Goal Setting and You Are What You Think

Filed under: Goal Setting, Videos — Tags: , , — Freedom Personal Development @ 6:00 am

Never in human history has it been easier for you to accomplish your goals than it is today. But you can’t reach a goal unless you know what you want in every area of your life.

One of the greatest discoveries is that you become what you think about, most of the time. Your outer world is a reflection of your inner world. Therefore, when you think about Read More...

Are You Committed to Your Absolute Best?

Roger SeipOn a day-by-day basis, are you fully committed to doing your absolute best that day?

Do you wake up in the morning and decide, “I’m going for it today. I’m going to give it everything I’ve got.”

You might be wondering why I am asking you this question. Here is why it is such an important question to ask:

The world rewards only the people who are fully, fully engaged in what they are doing. The level of commitment, energy and focus that is required for professional success, is incredibly high. And it is not on a gradient, it is either or. It operates very similar to a pot of water.

You can heat up a pot of water to 211 degrees. And do you know what you get? You get hot water! But you Read More...

4 Places to Post Your Goals

Tom WeberThe first quarter of the year is done and hopefully you are on track to achieving the goals you set at the beginning of the year. What I am going to cover today will help you consistently review your goals and keep them in the forefront of your mind.

The best way to do that is to post your goals where you can see them throughout the day. This will help immensely in reminding you if you are on track and what you are working towards.

Here are four places that I post my goals and I think you will find it a very beneficial way to review your goals.

1 – In Your Work Area

This one is pretty obvious. We spend most of our day here, so it is one of the best places Read More...

Are Your Goals Helping or Hurting You?

Roger SeipI have had some great conversations with people about their goals recently, specifically about the effect that goals were having on them mentally. I talked to a few whose goals were creating a healthy focus, motivation and energy. But I also talked with quite a few whose goals were causing more stress and anxiety than fun and positivity. What I noticed is that those whose goals were working for them had two things that the others did not. The two things were:

1. “Influenceability”
2. A short time frame

Here’s what I mean. On three separate occasions, I had conversations with people who were struggling. When I asked them about Read More...

Top Tips to Help Your Visualization Exercises

Filed under: Personal Freedom, Top 10 Lists — Tags: , , , — Freedom Personal Development @ 6:46 am

Self-TalkIf you are having trouble with visualizations don’t worry you’re not the only one!

Visualization is the process of making mental pictures and is a powerful technique used to help you focus your attention what you desire. People often come to me expressing concern that they are doing something wrong because they are having trouble seeing what they want.

Not everyone has a wide screen movie theater on the inside of his or her eyelids. Some people close their eyes and see absolutely nothing! Just blackness or spots, but not a picture.

Whether you know it or not you can visualize. To practice, try visualizing something you already have. It Read More...

When Motivation Is No Longer Necessary

Roger SeipWhat if I could show you how to reach a point where you no longer needed motivation to crush your goals?

I have found a renewed sense of energy and effortless motivation for my goals AFTER I push myself beyond the limit.

Here is a story that illustrates this point and tells you how you can reach this sweet spot.

One of my goals this year is to run a half marathon.

Now I know for some of you reading this that distance may not seem like that big a deal, but it’s big enough for me this year, and I think anyone can relate to the experience I had as I began training.

Part of what I’m doing is at the end of a week, I run Read More...

What is Excellence?

Leah SimpsonWhat does excellence mean to you? Before you continue reading, jot your definition down.

A lot of times I ask that question in the interview process and I am amazed with the answers I get. Many times people think excellence is trying hard, but we can all think of examples where people have tried hard and have fallen far short of excellence. People also mention being the best.

Excellence is one of our Core Values at Freedom Personal Development. We define it as raising the level of what is considered to be as success. It is a high standard to strive for because, when you become successful, it is no Read More...

Top 10 Tips to Overcome Adversity and Achieve Your Goals

Filed under: Goal Setting, Top 10 Lists — Tags: , , , , , — Freedom Personal Development @ 6:00 am

Overcome AdversityWho said this? “Never give up! Never give up! Never, ever give up!”

If you answered “Winston Churchill”, you would be correct! Thank goodness, there were men like him in the day when the world needed them most.

His message, of course, was related to World War II, but its implications for our lives are profound.

If a person gives up on his or her dream, all that will surely follow is sadness and depression. You need to team up with someone who will encourage you to “never, ever give up”. If you do not have a friend, parent, sibling, or spouse who fills this role for you as your biggest supporter, it can be very, very hard to persist.

In fact, those who should and could be Read More...
