A Lesson from a Mayonnaise Jar and 2 Cups of Coffee

A Professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

So the Professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

Approximately six weeks ago I found myself struggling to find the energy to do the smallest of tasks. I felt like I needed discipline to do everything. Things frustrated me. People were idiots. A Holiday Reminder – Giving Gives Life

The holidays are upon us. Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza or how ever you celebrate, the season is all about giving. I wanted to share a lesson that I learned from nature that helps me to understand that giving truly gives life.In the Middle East, there are two bodies of water close to one another – the Dead Sea and the Sea of Galilee.

Living a Life as an Example to All

Dr. Pausch was a professor at Carnegie Mellon University. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and his doctors are saying he has a few months to live. He reprises the last lecture he gave to his students on the Oprah Show.
