I was talking with somebody recently about what was happening in their business and where they were getting stuck. This person’s comment was something like “I just know that I need to be 100% committed to doing what needs to be done, including the little things. I feel like I’m about 95%, but I’m seeing that 100% is what’s necessary.”
I thought this was an astute observation. We then talked about an analogy in the realm of physical training that I believe you’d benefit from. Here goes.
In any workout- for improved endurance or strength- the actual growth stimulus occurs in a VERY small portion of the workout. That portion is THE LAST 1-5% of the entire workout, if the workout is done correctly. For Read More...
Everyone has the ability to live an extraordinary life. So why don’t more people live up to their potential? In this 8-minute video, Anthony Robbins argues it is because of our standards.
What ever you focus on in life tends to happen. Anthony shares a story with a thought-provoking message – life will pay any price you ask from it.
This is not a trick, purely talent and team work, but lots of patience and practice, and the result… stunning!! This video demonstrates visually how the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
“Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results.” – Andrew Carnegie
The story of “The Daffodil Principle” originally appeared nearly ten years ago in Jaroldeen Edwards’ book Celebration! The story illustrates 3 key points of how to create grand results in your life and the world. These are
- Moving towards a goal one tiny step at a time
- Loving the doing
- Using the accumulation of time
When we multiply tiny pieces of time with small increments of daily effort, we too will find we can accomplish magnificent things. We can change the world.

Kicking off 2010, I’m inspired to share with you one of the best-kept secrets at Freedom Personal Development.
You may have attended one of our live workshops or read articles from our instructors. You’ve heard the stories about how our staff has accomplished some mind-blowing results in the past. To list a few they have:
- Wiped out 30K of credit card debt in a year
- Broken sales records that stood for 10 years
- Completed the Iron Man
- Stopped Smoking and/or kicked other addictions
- Lost 30 lbs and kept it off permanently
I could go on and on…
People wonder how they are able to do these things. And in almost every instance, they did it Read More...
Our focus for today is the Winning Edge Theory. This is the idea that very small changes in your actions and/or attitude made over a period of time will create huge changes in your results.
All of us at some point have not been satisfied with our results and decided to do something about it. Usually, we decide that it is time to turnover a new leaf. So we commit to ourselves that tomorrow I am going to quit smoking or read that sales book or I will make 25 more phone calls and so forth. What happens though, is we follow through for a couple of days and then we get sidetracked or too busy and the plan falls apart.
When this happens, we have set ourselves up to fail. The changes were too big Read More...
So, I was amusing myself yesterday on my drive home from a sales call (I was up at 5:00 to get there on time which will explain the following wackiness) and I was contemplating what would be the components of the ultimate “guy” movie. (Trust me, I will tie this all together in the end.)
I found the components easy to list: Ninjas, a bank heist, monkeys, Clint Eastwood, the cast of Monty Python, Eddie Murphy (Beverly Hills Cop Eddie, not Dr. Doolittle Eddie), KIT from Nightrider, Teen Wolf, the cast of Oceans 11, a motorcycle gang with mullets, pirates, Mickey Rooney, Alec Baldwin, and Spuds McKenzie, with the Soundtrack written and performed by Metallica and 2PAC Read More...
The And Principle is one of my favorite methods of getting off to a quick start with a new project or a new goal. It’s also a sure-fire way to quickly fix a slump. It’s very simple.
Here’s how it works: Every performance is broken down into two components. It has an effort and then it has a result. What the And Principle focuses on is you achieving both the effort and the result before you stop working on that Read More...
There seems to be a polarization of emotions these days about the results people are getting. Some people are feeling awesome with how the year is going, and others are feeling…well, crappy. There isn’t much in between.
Let’s learn from those who are feeling great. And if you’re on of those people, please keep reading because:
1. you can post great comments for everyone, and
2. if you don’t keep doing these things, you won’t be feeling great for very long!
People that are achieving the results they wanted to see, and are on track to hit their goals, are doing four things very well and doing them consistently. They are:
This is a news article that I read about the current Number 1 Ranked Wrestling Team in the U.S. It happens to be the University of Iowa Hawkeyes, but the story and quotes aren’t really about wrestling, they are about winning and excellence.
I thought it was a great story about uping your game even when things are going well. I found it inspiring. Just imagine when they talk about beating their opponent that they are talking about mediocrity or complacency or about your comfort zone.
