It was clear from the variety of entries in the What is Success Contest that the word “success” means many things to many people. After reading the comments, it was clear that everyone that entered put a lot of thought behind what they wrote. To all that entered, I wish YOU success in all that you do. But I had to pick 3 winners, so here they are……drum roll please!
First Place and winner of an Expect Success Book (filled with positive quotes) is Debbie (#24):
If you want to be successful in life or any endeavor, you first have to decide what success looks like in order to know when you have achieved it.
Last month we posted a video on our blog entitled “What is Success”. In the video, everyday people off the street where asked to define the word success. That got me thinking how our clients and readers would answer that question. Which leads me to this month’s contest:
We have all read about people who are successful briefly. They win a gold medal, make a fortune, or star in one great movie…and then disappear. Or, there are those like Marilyn Monroe and Howard Hughes who achieve extraordinary success, at the cost of their own lives. These examples do not inspire me!

We usually allow ourselves to settle at what is safe and secure and yet we end up wondering at all the “what ifs?” and “what could have been?” in life.
If you take a risk and fail, move on!! The best way to learn anything is to fail at first.
We recently posted an article with some great stories on how people overcame failure. We recommend you read the article, Read More...

You have heard the cliché, “Rome was not built in a day” many times and you have been told countless times that, “Patience is a virtue.” My question to you is, Can we afford patience in today’s world? Don’t we have to keep up? Technology is changing exponentially, it doubles every 18 month. Do we have time to be patient?
In my humble opinion, we cannot afford not to learn more patience. Think about all the things in this world that show greatness, things that are awe inspiring and think about the patience required to create them.
Look at the nature. It takes a sequoia tree hundreds of Read More...
