What do you do to confront fear? I have a suggestion – practice gratitude. Tony Robbins says, “When you are grateful, fear disappears and abundance appears.” It is so true, gratefulness removes fear.
You have probably heard Oprah talking about keeping a gratitude journal. Coaching programs that I have taken part in talk about the gratitude principal and I recently heard a sermon on the topic of changing pleading into thankfulness.
We at Freedom Personal Development talk about thankfulness and gratefulness all the time, and yet as much as it is common knowledge that gratefulness has so much power, we often do not do it. Why is that?
I believe one of the reasons are the habits we have created in Read More...
I trust everyone had a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends!
Hopefully our November’s contest spurred some interesting conversations over Thanksgiving dinner on what outside of the box people, places and things your loved ones were grateful for.
Happy November! As Thanksgiving is several weeks away, this month’s contest focuses on gratitude.
When it comes to giving thanks and being grateful for the people, places and things in our lives, there are some obvious items that are usually ranked first on most people’s lists. Family, health, food, clothing, housing, job, church/spirituality and good friends regularly top the lists.
For this year’s contest, we want to go past the obvious and explore some the lesser-mentioned items that we are grateful for.
The question to answer this month is:
What 3 “outside of the box” items are you truly thankful for and Read More...
In this hilarious clip from the Conan O’Brien Show, comedian CK Lewis puts modern day life in perspective. Even in these hard economic times, we live in an AMAZING world and the frustrations of day to day living are really a luxury.
This clip made me think, made me grateful for technology and maybe most importantly, made me laugh out loud!
With Thanksgiving approaching, I thought it would be especially appropriate to discuss a defining characteristic of successful people that I’ve met worldwide. I’ve found that successful and joyous people are usually very skilled at counting their blessings. They focus on what’s right about their life instead of what’s wrong.
Why is this important?
It goes back to the incredibly simple but undeniably profound thought expressed in Earl Nightingale’s great album The Strangest Secret. He said that “you become what you think about all day long.” If you think about that, you’ll realize it’s true. The dominant thoughts that live in your Read More...

A couple of weeks ago my wife and I decided to do some upgrading on our house. We painted inside and out, put down some new flooring, trimmed trees and changed our front porch. We worked really hard and now we can literally see the benefits.
Something seemed to be missing at the Krause House though. Everyone worked hard and a reward is in order. Wouldn’t a new large flat screen TV tie all this effort together? I can give it as a gift to my son who worked so hard the past few weeks. He cut, he hauled, he Read More...
With the recession and gloom and doom clouds over Wall Street, a time out for gratitude is in order. It will lift your sprits through these tough times…..and remember, these tough times that WILL get better.
We’ve all heard that we should “Count our Blessings”. While this is a good exercise in gratitude, more importantly, we must realize that we are exactly where we are supposed to be at this very moment. As we realize that there is nowhere else that we are supposed to be then we can begin to understand how incredibly lucky we are to be there.
I could give you an endless list of all the differences between us in America and those in developing countries, we could discuss that a full Read More...
