“Activity conquers cold, but stillness conquers heat.” ~ Lao Tzu

It’s a bias of our culture that stillness is regarded as lazy, as being stuck in inaction, as a negative.

It’s not. It’s an action, and a powerful one.

What’s more, it can change your day, and in doing so change your life.

You’re in the middle of a frazzled day, swamped by work and meetings and emails and interruptions, or hassled by kids and phone calls Read More...

How To Achieve At Lighting Speed.

A man as asked what has led to his recent successes, he said that it all boils down to me being absolutely, positively and utterly OBSESSED! Completely OBSESSED in achieving the few desires that I have currently.  I am OBSESSED when I am attracting the right clients, I am OBSESSED when I am sticking to my schedule, I am OBSESSED when I am going over word tracks and scripts to help my delivery become more polished and smoother.  I am OBSESSED in my “Burning Desire” to help others improve their life and business.  I am absolutely, positively and utterly OBSESSED Read More...

Sometimes, a hug is all that we need to experience an instant attitude boost. This video is from the Free Hugs Campaign and is the real life controversial story of Juan Mann, a man whose sole mission was to reach out and hug a stranger and put a smile on their face.

In this age of social-disconnection most all of us lack that simple human touch from Read More...

Instant Attitude Boost Tool

Roger SeipAt Freedom Personal Development, we are all about attitude. I have taught countless workshops and given keynote speeches across the country on this topic and wanted to share one of the most important attitude management tools you have.

I always start a class or speech with an informal survey of the audience about whether their attitude is a talent or a skill. A talent being something that you are either born with or not; you have it or your do not. And a skill is something that you will learn through conscious efforts.

People tend to argue with and say that their attitude is a talent, and not a skill. But, then I ask them this question, “Are there things you can proactively and consciously do Read More...

Radical Mental Shift

I have long been fascinated by how my mental preparation has preceded specific results.

If I visualize an event going smoothly, it always goes better than if I go into it to “dominate” or “kick-butt.”

If you’ve ever noticed that your mental approach to a situation affects your results, you–like me–may find the following video enlightening.

The video is an Englishman who swam at the North Pole in 29-degree water (below freezing) for 1 km and at a newly formed lake (from a melted glacier) on Mt. Everest at 17,388 feet (5300 m), which is higher than any continental U.S. peak.

Part of his talk is on climate change, but the majority of his talk is on the important lesson that he shares on the radical Read More...

Focus is one of the most important day-to-day tasks that top performers, or those that want to be top performers, have to understand to reach their goals.

What is Focus?

I have personally heard many stories and application of focus and will share of few examples with you.

Gary Ryan Blair, The Goals Guy, is one of the foremost experts on the concepts of goal setting. He says that the word FOCUS stands for:

Fear Disappears when you are Grateful

What do you do to confront fear? I have a suggestion – practice gratitude. Tony Robbins says, “When you are grateful, fear disappears and abundance appears.” It is so true, gratefulness removes fear.

You have probably heard Oprah talking about keeping a gratitude journal. Coaching programs that I have taken part in talk about the gratitude principal and I recently heard a sermon on the topic of changing pleading into thankfulness.

We at Freedom Personal Development talk about thankfulness and gratefulness all the time, and yet as much as it is common knowledge that gratefulness has so much power, we often do not do it. Why is that?

I believe one of the reasons are the habits we have created in Read More...

A Morning Routine to Get You EXCITED for Your Day

When I woke up this morning, I was so pumped and excited about my life, I just had to take a minute to share some of the techniques I use. These are things I have incorporated into my morning routine which has lead to a difference in my overall attitude and excitement for the day. My attitude was good before and now, with some modifications to my morning routine, my attitude is fabulously phenomenal!

So as soon as I wake up, I am pumping my fist or doing some type of hand motion saying how outstanding and great today is, such as, “I am grateful to be alive and have the abundance around me.” I look at my wife and she is usually sleeping still. She is so beautiful when she is sleeping. Sometimes she Read More...
