Winners of Our Successful Relationship Contest Announced

Thank you to everyone who participated in our “What is a Successful Relationship Contest”

Lots of great answers here, I must say that I learned quite a bit from reading them. So without further ado, here are our winners:

First Place and winner of a Freedom Personal Development Sweatshirt – Irene Koontz (comment #18)

I believe to keep married romance alive, couples should choose something that made them happy while they were dating and make it their “personal tradition.” There is a romantic phrase my spouse said to me while we were dating that warmed my heart so much that I said I’d love to hear it every day. We have been married almost 9 years now and there is not a day that goes by that he does not say those words to me. They seem to heal and melt each day’s burdens away and bring us closer to each other each time we share in those words.

Made me wonder what her spouse says every day!

Second Place and winner of an “Expect Success” Book – Philip Glover (comment #13)

Listen, Really Listen.
People feel very special if they perceive you care about what they have to say. Showing appreciation, say thank you, shake your clients’ hand, and be available. This is true of business and personal relationships.

The concept of Really Listening is huge in any relationship, and I thought he expressed this really well

Third Place and Winner of a Freedom Personal Development Water Bottle - Eve Tovar-Karoses(comment #2)

My definition of a successful (husband\wife)relationship is one with mutual respect,
unconditional love, flammable passion, and being able to work as a team to accomplish
both your goals.

What does it take to achieve that success?
It takes continuous planning, Patience, desire, Love and admiration from both parties.

Just for the excellent use of the term “flammable passion”!

  3. Thank you for choosing my entry as first-place winner. Roger, the words my husband says to me every day (most often before we go to sleep as he holds me in his arms to say goodnight) are, “I love you, I need you, I want you, I am crazy about you.” If we are separated due to traveling, he will call me and say these words to me. He actually made me a poster that I framed, and it now hangs in our bedroom. Thanks for letting me share this love story with you.

  5. I received the sweatshirt yesterday and our weather turned nice enough to wear it today. Thank you for the prompt mailing! I really think it’s a great item. So glad I won.

Wish I could think of some “blarney” good luck charm for the March blog, but that’s exactly what it would be! It will be interesting to read what others write.

I’ve never taken part in something like this before. It’s been fun and exciting.
